GAME signs up its first promotions agency

GAME has signed an exclusive agreement with Parallel Promotions to be its retained agency for all promotional third party opportunities.

GAME is Europe’s leading specialist in the UK & Eire, with over 340 stores in most high street and shopping centre locations. With over 4 million customers signed up to GAME’s Reward Card, the company is best placed to understand the typical gamer (predominantly male, 20-35). But GAME is also trying to communicate that there are other groups of customers that are keen gamers in addition to this core group, for example the over 50 male gamer, or the 40-something female buying games as gifts.

Anna Macario, Marketing Director at GAME said, “The video games industry currently enjoys a very high profile within the media, and we’re looking to harness this publicity by getting our brand name more recognised with potential third parties. Our aim is to increase the GAME brand profile within the marketing industry, and of course with consumers. We believe that recruiting Parallel will help us to achieve this.

“We can offer a variety of brands the chance to reach our customers in a cost effective way that will be relevant to them.”

Paul Preece, Director at Parallel said, “Initially we will be looking to provide GAME with pro-active offer placement, suitable partners would be youth targeted (19-25 year olds) or predominantly male targeted brands – but we would also be interested to hear how we and other brands could communicate with our other customer groups.”

Parallel have already placed an offer from GAME, within Loaded magazine. Claire Porteous from Loaded said: “Parallel promotions facilitated a unique partnership between Loaded and GAME for the magazine’s major cover mount of the year. They proved to be efficient and effective in their endeavours and achieved great results within the confines of a very tight timeline.”
