Game host Charity Ball in aid of ESC

27/06/2003

GAME will host its first industry Charity Ball this year with all proceeds going to the Entertainment Software Charity (esc), it is announced today.

Around 500 guests are anticipated to attend the event on Thursday August 28th at Syon Park, Middlesex, the London home of the Duke of Northumberland.

GAME Deputy Chief Executive Designate Lisa Morgan feels passionately that a Ball is the ideal way to bring the whole industry together to raise money for charity.

Lisa said “Our industry is going from strength to strength, so we want to provide an opportunity for everyone to celebrate their achievements – and at the same time raise serious money for the disadvantaged young people that the esc helps.”

“The Charity Ball is an event for the whole industry, and we hope that everyone will come along both to enjoy themselves and raise lots of money for esc. As well as selling tickets, we aim to raise thousands through sponsorship, a raffle, an auction, and several other fundraising activities.”

Mark Strachan, Chief Executive of the esc said “An Industry Charity Summer Ball is a perfect way to create profile for and focus on the esc. I’m thrilled that GAME has decided to make such an ambitious decision to really get behind us. The evening will be all about getting together and having some fun during London Games Week, with all proceeds of the event going to the esc.

“We look forward to continuing our working relationship with GAME, thank them for their fantastic support and urge others to look for ways in which they can also get behind the esc.”

The evening will start at 7pm with a champagne reception. The gourmet dinner will be followed by a band and dancing. Further details will be announced shortly.

Tables cost £2500 for a table of 10.

Tickets are also available at £250 per person.
