GAME boosts buying team with DVD specialist
14/05/2004
Europe’s favourite games retailer, GAME, has recruited Bonita Lloyd to a newly created position of Group Product Manager, with a specific focus on its DVD category.
Reporting directly to Alex Croft, Buying Director, and working alongside three other Group Product Managers and the rest of the buying team, her role will be to further manage and develop GAME’s existing DVD offering and range, in it’s 370 plus stores in the UK & Eire.
Bonita, aged 30, joined GAME on 10 May, coming from a two year stint at Blockbuster where she was Senior Product Manager. Previously Bonita worked in the optical industry in Australia.
DVDs are an obvious complement to video games because the Microsoft Xbox and Sony PlayStation 2 consoles both play DVD films and 45%* of UK households now own a DVD player.
Alex Croft, Buying Director said “I’m extremely pleased to be welcoming Bonita to GAME, and to our Buying team. Bonita will be a great addition to our business in 2004, as we look to further strengthen our DVD offering.”
“We recognise the increasing importance of DVD films in GAME stores, and it shows with an ever growing number of customers buying their DVDs from us. Bonita’s appointment as an experienced retail buyer will help us capitalise on that growing trend.”
