GAME delight as console prices slashed

20/08/2004

GAME, the UK’s largest video games retailer, today expressed delight at the news of manufacturer price cuts on Playstation 2 and Xbox.

Deputy Chief Executive Lisa Morgan said “These price cuts are very welcome. Its excellent news for consumers, as thousands more will be able to enjoy the outstanding line-up of games that will be released this Christmas.

“Sequels to some of the world’s biggest selling games arrive in the next three months including Halo 2, FIFA 2005, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, and Need for Speed Underground 2.”

“The anticipation around the launch of these games is enormous, and the next few months will be unique in the history of video games. You only have to look at what happened to sales of the original Playstation when it’s price came down to see the opportunity for Playstation 2 and Xbox this Christmas.”

“At these hot prices there is expected to be high demand, so customers would be wise to get their Christmas orders in early.”

“In the meantime we’ll have some fantastic deals in our stores from this weekend.”
