GAME's reward programme now instant redemption

One month after GAME stated that it had surpassed 5 million Reward Card members, the Group is re-launching its GAME Reward Card with hi-tech instant redemption and all new designs for cards and marketing materials. The system is expected to be available to customers on 20 October.
The scheme, run since 1997, has seen membership rise steadily since the launch, and is now the biggest of its type in Europe. The huge amount of information available to GAME is now believed to be one of the largest and most detailed in Europe, and saw 20% growth in membership in the last 12 months.
GAME still offers one of the highest return rates on the high street, at 2.5% on purchases and 5% when games are pre-ordered and purchased.
Instant redemption is already in place within the chain’s schemes in France and Sweden. The campaign, dubbed ‘Instant Savings’, will be supported by in-store marketing, including hanging banners, window posters, leaflets, till point posters and newly designed cards. The initiative launches under the slogan ‘Let Us Reward You – You’ve Earned It!’
Customers will continue to accrue points with every purchase and when they reach 1000 points (worth £2.50), they can instantly redeem the points in £2.50 denominations. Previously customers were sent their vouchers three times a year by post.
All store staff have received extensive training on how to use the new technology and educating customers on the benefits of instant redemption. Faster transaction times at the tills in-store will mean that customers will benefit further.
In order to roll out instant redemption to all 390+ stores*, GAME has made a significant investment in the till system with Anker, who provide GAME with their till software.
