GAME and GDI partner to form PC gaming download offer

GAME Group plc and Game Domain International (GDI) today announce a new partnership to develop a service whereby GDI provides the technology for a high speed PC gaming download service for delivery through GAME's website www.game.co.uk; and GAME provides retailing and marketing services to AWOMO, GDI's new gaming community virtual world.
GDI's revolutionary product allows gamers to download PC games directly to their PCs within minutes rather than hours. GAME will benefit from GDI's revolutionary delivery of interactive entertainment products, thereby enhancing its consumer proposition. Under the terms of the partnership, GAME will also provide GDI with retailing and marketing services.
GAME will also be closely involved in the development of AWOMO, GDI's 3D virtual world for gamers, 'A World Of My Own', which creates a living environment where gamers can interact with each other and access streamed PC gaming services.
GAME was the first UK retailer to offer "Games on demand" download services in the UK, selling downloadable games alongside boxed products at www.game.co.uk.
